EU finance ministers have approved changes to Poland's National Recovery Plan (KPO), allowing the country to submit formal payment requests.

The European Commission (EC) has approved changes to Poland’s National Recovery Plan (KPO).

The Polish government will debate next week a set of changes to the planned revision of the country’s National Recovery Plan (KPO), which details how Poland will spend post-pandemic funding from the EU, Polish Funds Minister Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz has said.

Poland will not be able to make use of all the money available under the National Recovery Plan (KPO) due to the previous government's failure to apply for an advance payment, the country’s funds minister has warned.

Poland submitted its first payment request from the National Recovery Plan (KPO) in mid-January 2024.

The unblocking paves the way for the payment of EUR 6.3 billion, with the money expected to reach Poland in the coming weeks.
