The Polish government will debate next week a set of changes to the planned revision of the country’s National Recovery Plan (KPO), which details how Poland will spend post-pandemic funding from the EU, Polish Funds Minister Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz has said.
On Friday, Pełczyńska-Nałęcz addressed the issue on state-owned Polish Radio One, saying: “On April 30, the cabinet will debate a set of revisions regarding KPO and then agree on the final version, that is, a document called ‘addendum’ that will subsequently be sent to the EU as Poland’s official statement.”
She stated that work on the final version of the document has been ongoing for the past month, and that all the relevant Polish ministries, as well as several representatives of the European Commission, participated in “numerous very intense conversations.”
Pełczyńska-Nałęcz added that preparations for the KPO began in 2020 and have since required various corrections.
“KPO is a program that aims to promote reforms; it’s not just about money,” she continued. “The two-year delay needs to be made up, and it is no easy job.
“Our interests must be well presented to the EU … and we conduct our policy in the EU in such a way so that it is in line with national interests.”
