Russian state oil giant Rosneft employs dozens of young women as escorts, an investigation by the late opposition politician Alexei Navalny’s Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) has found.
According to investigators, the women are officially employed in admin roles but in reality provide escort services to senior executives, including CEO Igor Sechin, a close ally of Vladimir Putin.
The FBK's investigation, initially aimed at Sechin, uncovered what it describes as his “personal escort agency” of “a dozen” women in their 20s.
Through photo analysis, phone and police database cross-referencing, and social media scrutiny, the foundation found that the group of women, who are earning salaries far exceeding those of more experienced employees, had profiles on escort websites.
The women often accompanied Sechin and other executives on luxury trips to destinations such as the United Arab Emirates, Maldives, Morocco and Qatar. The FBK said: “Any woman has the right to make her own choices, to earn money and to control her own body as she sees fit.

“But the line between personal privacy and public accountability is erased the moment that you enter the civil service.
“And this is exactly what is happening here. The girls we're going to talk about today are paid from the budget of a state-owned company.”
One of the women, Albina I., was appointed as deputy head of Rosneft’s business management division at just 21 years old in 2016, earning a monthly salary of over 300,000 rubles (€2,950).
This, investigators said, was “around twice as much as what her more experienced colleagues at Rosneft—engineers, economists and lawyers with years of experience—were being offered.”
By cross-referencing Albina's Instagram posts, where she showcases her travels, expensive jewelry, handbags and luxury cars, with flight records and reports of Sechin's international trips, the Anti-Corruption Foundation confirmed that she had accompanied him on his private jet at least 58 times over the last nine years.
The investigation also found that Albina has been receiving a second salary from the Independent Oil and Gas Company, owned by Sechin’s close associate Eduard Khudainatov, since 2017.
“And this is exactly what is happening here. The girls we're going to talk about today are paid from the budget of a state-owned company.”

According to the investigation, she also has a profile on an escort website called Skin Market.
Another woman, Alexandra A., 27, is listed as an advisor to Rosneft's business manager, who was hired in 2024. Her profile is also found on an escort website.
Elizaveta, hired as a secretary at Rosneft at age 21, worked there for two years. Her phone number appeared in escort agency contact lists, and her physical characteristics were identified in leaked phone records.
Yet another of the women, Yana, was listed as a sex worker in a leaked police database, according to the investigation.
Neither Rosneft nor Sechin has commented on the allegations.
