Number of foreign workers in Poland is decreasing, says statistical office

The number of foreign citizens employed in Poland decreased to less than one million by the end of January 2024, as reported by Statistics Poland (GUS).

By the end of January 2024, the number of foreign workers in the country had dropped to 999,800, compared to 1,015,100 at the end of December 2023.

Citizens of Ukraine constituted the largest group of foreign workers, numbering 686,700 by the end of January, which accounts for 69% of all foreign workers.

Their overall job market share decreased by 4.6% from January 2022.

At the end of January, foreign workers represented 6.5% of Poland’s total labor market.
