At its Litvinov plant, Orlen Unipetrol, the Czech subsidiary of Poland’s largest company, energy group Orlen, has launched a new production line valued at more than €9 million, increasing its capacity to make polymers.

Orlen Group explained that the new production line increases the output of no-dust blends (NDBs), which are used to make polyethylene and polypropylene.

"The Orlen Group has launched a modern installation at its Czech plant in Litvinov, which will increase sevenfold the production capacity of no-dust blends used for the production of polyethylene and polypropylene," the company wrote in a statement, adding that the investment "will allow the production of approximately 3,000 tonnes of a specialized blend per year."

Orlen said the investment would allow its Litvinov facility to satisfy all its own NDB needs and ensure independence from external suppliers while also raising the quality of its final polymer products, which are used in the automotive industry, among other applications.

"In addition to ensuring high-quality final products, the solution guarantees dust-free material processing, which significantly reduces costs, improves work safety, and reduces waste,” Orlen said.
