Russia’s oil and energy giant Gazprom reported a more than 1 trillion rubles (€12 bln) net loss for 2024, calculated under Russian accounting standards (RAS), the Interfax news agency reported.
In 2023 the company booked €7.8 billion net profit under RAS.
But under international accounting standards (IFRS) the company reported a net loss of €7.1 billion for the same year; the first it has posted a loss in 25 years.
The financial year report for 2024 complied under international accounting standards is set to be published by the end of April.
Gazprom’s dive into the red has been attributed to a decrease in share value of Gazprom Neft, the company’s oil arm.
