A Polish left-wing party has decided to leave the Left parliamentary caucus that is part of the current ruling coalition and form a separate group in the lower house amid disagreement over the government’s budget for next year.

MPs belonging to Poland’s coalition government have signed a motion to bring Maciej Świrski, the head of the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT), before a State Tribunal.

The lower house of the Polish Parliament, the Sejm, commenced a public hearing on Thursday morning for discussion of proposed bills concerning abortion, drawing fervent arguments from both advocates and opponents of abortion rights.

In his speech, the head of Polish Foreign Ministry Radosław Sikorski wanted to show the West and his voters that Poland has returned to the European community, and the voters of the Law and Justice party (PiS) that it is pursuing an independent policy, the German daily Berliner Zeitung (BZ) commented on the Foreign Minister speech in Poland’s lower parliament (Sejm).

Both were trusted by 50% of respondents in the March survey by CBOS pollster published on Monday.

The speaker of the Sejm, the lower house of the Polish parliament, has ordered the Supreme Audit Office (NIK) to inspect the public funding of churches and religious organizations.
