Appliances firm Beko Europe may cut almost 2,000 Polish jobs

International home appliances firm Beko Europe has announced it is closing one of its Poland-based plants and scaling back operations at another, which could lead to the loss of close to 2,000 jobs.

Cash-strapped PKP Cargo said it planned to make 30% of its workforce redundant by the end of September.
