Austrian authorities are saying that the Hallstätter Glacier is now beyond saving, having lost one-third of its mass since 2006, Die Presse news website reported.

Poor and developing countries are projected to take the hardest hit.

Ocean temperatures hit a record high in February, with the average global sea surface temperature at 21.06 degrees Celsius, the EU’s Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) reported on Thursday.
