Polish President Andrzej Duda arrived in New York on Saturday to attend the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, which is scheduled for Tuesday.

Duda’s visit marks his tenth appearance at the annual gathering, where he plans to deliver a speech focusing on “peace through law” amid ongoing global conflicts, including Russia’s aggression in Ukraine.

Before his UN engagements, Duda and First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda visited the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown in East coast state of Pennsylvania, a significant spiritual center for the Polish-American community.

The Polish President’s Office previously reported that a meeting at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa between Duda and U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump was canceled .

On Sunday, Duda will participate in the “Summit for the Future,” addressing global peace challenges. He will also attend the Three Seas Initiative Round Table, an event focused on strengthening regional ties in Central and Eastern Europe.

Duda's speech at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday is expected to highlight the importance of international law and the dangers of conflicts driven by military power, referencing both the war in Ukraine and unrest in the Middle East.

On Wednesday, Duda will participate in a UN Security Council debate titled “Leadership for Peace” and meet with various world leaders, including the Secretary General of the UN, Antonio Guterres, and the presidents of the Baltic states.

The visit will conclude with a reception hosted by U.S. President Joe Biden at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
