Local authorities in Janów Lubelski posted a picture to Facebook of a grown man sliding down a children’s ‘pirate ship,’ requesting parents to refrain.

The town council of Janów Lubelski in southeastern Poland has taken the unusual step of posting a picture to Facebook to shame adults into staying off an apparatus meant for children.

The picture, captured from video monitoring , shows a man sliding down from a climbing frame themed around a pirate ship as a small child looks on from the ground. The caption accompanying the image said adults had been caught multiple times using the attraction, but that this particular parent had gone a step further by using the slide.

“The ship is a play device intended for children,” the post read. “We kindly request parents and guardians not to climb on the ship and not to use any part of the equipment!!!”

The post continued that damage to any part of the ship would entail the whole facility being taken out of use.

“Let’s not take away children’s fun!!!” the council wrote.

Other Facebook users commented on the post.

“Words fail me to describe the behavior of such parents,” wrote one, while another was more sympathetic, commenting: “We are all children, it would be better to give a weight limit.”

The town’s deputy mayor, Czesław Krzysztoń, told the TVN24 website the Facebook post was intended to warn people who might damage the climbing frame that the site was monitored by video cameras and it was very easy to check who had been using it.

He said such situations were not common but did occur and pointed out that the park also featured an outdoor gym for adults.
