As Poland’s footballers gear up for Euro 2024 in Germany, their amputee counterparts have set the bar high by storming their group in the EAFF European Championships.

Facing Ireland this afternoon in the Quarter Finals, Poland have emerged as red-hot favorites after blowing aside their rivals in Group D.

First beating Greece 7-0, the Poles then mauled Scotland 15-0. Bagging their first goal after 83 seconds, the White & Reds breezed past a shell-shocked Scotland to record their highest ever win at the Euros.

Topping their group, Poland then secured a first-place finish after blitzing Germany 6-0 on Tuesday.

“The fact we spread fear works to our advantage,” said star player Krystian Kapłon. “We’ve broken the record for goals in the European Championship and showed that we will not give up on any opponent; we try and fight them from the first to last minute.” Amputee football in Poland currently finds itself riding the crest of a wave; just last year, Marcin Oleksy won the FIFA goal of the year for a spectacular overhead kick.

Finishing third in both previous European tournaments, the Poles will now be looking to reach another level and win the Championship for the first time in history.
