Today, the European Parliment campaign officially kicks off in Poland, with the crucial vote just weeks away. Studies show that what Polish voters value most in candidates is experience and readiness to protect the country’s interests.
For the next parliamentary term, 720 MEPs from EU Member States will be elected in total, including 53 from Poland.
Forty committees across the country have registered, including coalition committees – the Civic Coalition, the Left, the Polish People’s Party, and Polexit Solidarity.
Members of the European Parliament will serve five-year terms. According to the Polish law, any permanent resident of any EU country over the age of 21 on voting day may run in these elections.
Polls conducted in the lead-up to the vote show that personal integrity and patriotism top the list of the most desired qualities of future MEPs.
This year’s EP elections will be held in early June. In Poland, eligible voters will head to polling stations on June 9th.
