The majority of workers in Poland support the implementation of practices that openly share information about employee salaries, according to a recent Randstad Workmonitor poll from 2024, which the Rzeczpospolita newspaper cited.
The report revealed that 61% of Polish employees believe salary transparency could significantly contribute to closing the gender pay gap.
Additionally, over half of the respondents stated that such transparency could potentially rectify any unjust earnings discrepancies.
The findings highlighted a need for transparency in compensation but not total disclosure. Only 39% of the participants supported the idea of openly revealing everyone’s salaries (including their own), while 31% were opposed to it.
Rzeczpospolita highlighted the significance of salary bracket information for job seekers.
Some 80% of the survey respondents said they preferred it when job postings included salary ranges, particularly the precise basic salary amount.
The article suggested that a forthcoming EU directive could meet these expectations by mandating companies to disclose salary ranges before interviews, even if not directly in job advertisements.
The implementation of the new rules is expected by June 2026.
The study was conducted on a representative sample of 1,000 Poles in February 2024.
