“We speak with one voice on Ukraine,” Polish PM Donald Tusk said in Prague after meeting with his Czech counterpart Petr Fiala. “It is our moral and political duty, as well as our clear interest, to support Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression,” he emphasized.

During a joint press conference, the head of the Polish government emphasized that his visit to Prague confirms “something obvious for our nations,” namely the traditional friendship that arises not only from geographic proximity, history, and “shared generational experiences, but also from a community of interests and opinions on the most important issues facing Europe and the world today.”

He stressed that it is very important for both Poland and the Czech Republic, as well as for Ukraine, the EU, and NATO, that “in a region that has been quite complicated lately, there are two capitals that speak with one voice on virtually all matters.”

“With regard to Ukraine, Russian aggression, and responsibility for these tragedies, we have spoken with one voice since the beginning of this conflict,” Tusk emphasized.

He also expressed satisfaction that both countries would support Ukraine, including in the delivery of ammunition. He stated that Poland is willing to participate in any initiative that will bring an end to Russian aggression against Ukraine.

“It is our moral, political duty, but also our clear interest, to support Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression,” Tusk underscored.

After the meeting, both prime ministers, along with their counterparts from Slovakia and Hungary, will participate in the Visegrad Group (V4) summit.
