Trematosaurs, early Triassic amphibians that resembled today's crocodiles, also inhabited the areas of today’s Poland 250 million years ago, researchers from the Institute of Paleobiology of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the University of Warsaw have shown.

Polish scientists have discovered the remains of over a thousand specimens of extinct animals dating back approximately 240 million years, including the bones of a reptile previously unknown to science.
