Lithuania’s National Library has identified a rare incunabulum, a book printed during the initial phase of printing in Europe, up until the year 1500, adding to its collection of early printed works.

Treasure hunters in Poland have unearthed centuries-old silver coins valued at over half a million zlotys (almost €115,000) while searching for the remnants of a Roman road.

Among ancient items such as Italian ceramics and Roman coins, Polish archaeologists have discovered papyri containing letters from Roman centurions in an ancient port in Egypt.

During the renovation of the central part of Parade Square, near Marszałkowska Street, workers discovered pre-war cellars filled with historical artifacts including old coins, buttons, and bottles. These findings will be showcased in the “En Route to the Square” exhibition on European Night of Museums, May 18th.

A fragment of a medieval lead papal bull was discovered near Wysoka Kamieńska, northwest Poland, Grzegorz Kurka, Director of a regional museum dedicated to the history of the land announced on Tuesday. This is the third ‘bulla’ to arrive at the museum in recent years.
