French authorities have thwarted an Islamist terror attack planned by an 18-year-old Chechen who intended to target a football match in Saint Etienne at the forthcoming Olympics.

Ukrainian military intelligence was directly involved in a deadly attack on a concert hall near Moscow in which over 140 people were killed, the head of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), Alexander Bortnikov, said, TASS reported on Friday.

Ukraine was not involved in Friday's shooting attack near Moscow and suggestions of a Ukrainian link “have nothing in common with reality,” a spokesman for Kyiv’s military spy agency has said.
