Spy scandal surrounds main candidate of German nationalist party in election run-up

The leadership of the right-wing populist Alternative for Germany party (AfD) sought to keep their Member of the European Parliament, Maximilian Krah, suspected of ties to Russia and China, out of the public eye in their election campaign, the German newspaper “Bild” reported.
