A groundbreaking discovery in Romania has pushed back the arrival of early human ancestors in Europe by nearly 200,000 years.

Archeologists investigating a 2,000-year-old cemetery have uncovered a treasure trove of rare Neolithic and early Bronze Age artifacts.

Analysis conducted by British archaeologist Steven Mithen indicates that early humans likely developed basic language skills approximately 1.6 million years ago, predominantly in regions of eastern or southern Africa.
