A Polish war cemetery in Ukraine narrowly avoided destruction following a near-miss during last week’s wave of Russian aerial attacks.

The Katyn Shadow March went through the streets of Warsaw. “Its silence is a scream,” emphasized Jarosław Wróblewski, the organizer.

On 13 April 1943, information was revealed in Berlin about the mass graves found in Katyn of Polish officers murdered by the Soviet secret police agency (NKVD).

For decades, the Soviets denied responsibility for the killings, attributing them to the Germans until 1990, when they officially acknowledged NKVD involvement.

On April 10, 2010, 96 people died in the crash of the Tu-154 plane near Smolensk, including President Lech Kaczyński and his wife Maria.

President Kaczyński and the whole delegation were on their way to Katyn to honor the Polish POWs brutally murdered by the Soviets.
