The Polish Anti-Doping Agency (POLADA) has announced it will not pursue a doping ban against tennis star Iga Świątek after the relevant sports authority cleared the athlete of any wrongdoing.

Polish tennis star Iga Świątek is serving a one-month suspension after trace amounts of a banned substance were found in her system, caused by a contaminated melatonin supplement.

The men’s world No. 1 tennis player, Jannik Sinner, was cleared of doping charges last week, but his treatment by the game’s authorities is in contrast to Polish player Kamil Majchrzak, who similarly failed a doping test but was subsequently cleared.

In a rare case, the Court of Arbitration for Sports cleared a Polish canoeist of doping charges and permitted her participation in the Olympic Games currently underway in Paris, the head of Poland’s anti-doping agency told the state news agency PAP.
