Ukraine could carry counteroffensive in 2025 owing to U.S. support, official says

Ukraine will aim to carry out a counteroffensive on the frontlines in 2025, Jake Sullivan, the advisor for U.S. national security said in an interview with the Financial Times on Saturday. This initiative comes after the country received weaponry worth over $60 billion as part of American military assistance.

31,000 Ukrainian soldiers killed since Russia’s full-scale invasion: President Zelenskyy

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Sunday that 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers had been killed since Russia launched its full-scale invasion two years ago, giving the first official figure after more than a year. Zelenskyy said that Kyiv is planning another counteroffensive against Russia while adding that Moscow is also likely to attempt another in late May or summer.
