EU hits Google and Apple in big-tech crackdown

European antitrust regulators hit Google with two charges of breaching landmark EU rules on Wednesday and ordered Apple to help rivals connect with its iPhones and iPads, continuing with a geopolitically charged crackdown against Big Tech.

Apple fined USD 1.84 bn by EU for antitrust violations in Spotify case

Apple (AAPL.O) was hit with a EUR 1.84 billion (USD 2 bn) European Union (EU) antitrust fine on Monday, its first ever and comprising mostly a deterrent, for preventing Spotify (SPOT.N) and other music streaming services from informing users of payment options outside its App Store.
