The 138th birth anniversary of legendary Polish-American pianist Arthur Rubinstein will be marked by the launch of a children’s book based on his life.

Titled, ‘Mr Arthur thumbs his nose at boredom,’ the book is authored by acclaimed Polish children’s writer Grzegorz Kasdepke, with illustrations by Joanna Rusinek.

Organizers described the book as a creative blend of fact and fiction, featuring real-life figures from Rubinstein's life, including the artist Pablo Picasso.

Born on January 28, 1887, in the central Polish city of Łódż, Arthur Rubinstein was the seventh child of a Jewish family.

He began his musical studies at the age of 10 in Berlin and debuted as a pianist three years later.

Over the decades, Rubinstein gained global recognition, performing at the world’s most prestigious venues and championing Polish music, particularly the works of Frédéric Chopin.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest pianists of all time, in 1984, two years after his death, the Łódź Philharmonic was named in his honor.
