EU citizens go to the polls from June 6-9 in elections to the European Parliament that could help define the political trajectory of the bloc for the next five years.

Around 373 million people from 27 countries are eligible to vote for the only directed-elected body in the European Union.

Most countries, including Poland, vote on June 9 but some countries, such as the Netherlands, vote earlier, with the Dutch casting their ballots on June 6.

There are, however, exceptions to the June 6-9 voting days. Malta allowed people who will be out of the country or in hospital on its designated election day, June 8, to cast their vote on June 1.
