Orthodox Christians are celebrating Easter Sunday today. This is the third wartime Easter for believers living in Ukraine.
The night from Easter Saturday to Sunday is traditionally marked by an all-night vigil. Due to the curfew in place in Kyiv, attendees of this ritual had to arrive at churches early, before the curfew started, and remain there until it ended in the morning.
Approximately 70% of Ukrainians are Orthodox. Unlike most European nations, they have become more religious in recent years.
