Monday, April 22, was the last day for political parties to notify the PKW of the establishment of an electoral committee or for an electoral agent to notify the establishment of a coalition electoral committee, or for voters to establish an electoral committee. It was also the last day for appointing district electoral commissions and regional electoral commissions.
In the list of notifications of electoral committee establishment submitted to the PKW for the European Parliament elections, a total of 39 committees were listed but ‘only’ 35 committees were registered.
Among the registered were the main Polish parties, Law and Justice, Civic Coalition, Third Way 2050 Szymon Hołownia - Polish People’s Party Coalition, Confederation - running alone in some regions or teamed together with independent politicians hence few electoral committees bearing the name Confederation, and the Left.
This year's European Parliament elections will take place in various EU countries from June 6-9. Poles will elect 53 Members of the European Parliament on June 9.
