Over 500 individuals targeted with Pegasus spyware: Official

Minister Tomasz Siemoniak, the coordinator of Poland’s intelligence services, revealed in an interview with the private broadcaster TVN24 that more than 500 people were targeted with the Pegasus spyware, which is currently under investigation by a parliamentary commission.

Justice Minister Adam Bodnar forwarded the report detailing these findings to Szymon Holownia, the speaker of the Sejm, Poland’s lower house of parliament.

Pegasus is notorious for its ability to infiltrate smartphones, allowing it to gather information and eavesdrop on conversations. When asked about the extent of the surveillance, Siemoniak stated, “Based on the information provided by our intelligence services, it exceeded 500 individuals.”

Justice Minister Bodnar has emphasized that the aim of the report is to provide details on the specific instances in which Pegasus was deployed in Poland.
