Local elections: Mayoral results from Poland’s largest cities

The recent local elections in Poland have offered a vivid snapshot of the country's political landscape, with a mix of decisive victories, closely contested races leading to second rounds, and cities awaiting official confirmation of election outcomes. Yet, no candidate from the major opposition party, the Law and Justice, managed to win a mayoral seat in any of the largest Polish cities in the first round.

Mayors elected in the first round

In several cities, incumbent mayors decisively won the elections in the first round, illustrating firm support for the following candidates:

Warsaw: Rafał Trzaskowski (Civic Coalition) - 57.41%
Bydgoszcz: Rafał Bruski (Civic Coalition) - 53.50%
Lublin: Krzysztof Żuk (Civic Coalition) - 57.49%
Opole: Arkadiusz Wiśniewski (nonpartisan, backed by the Civic Coalition) - 75.47%
Białystok: Tadeusz Truskolaski (nonpartisan, backed by the Civic Coalition) - 53.32%
Katowice: Marcin Krupa (nonpartisan, backed by the Civic Coalition) - 62.43%
Szczecin: Piotr Krzystek (nonpartisan, backed by the Civic Coalition) - 60.43%
Łódź: Hanna Zdanowska (Civic Coalition) - 59,30% Gdańsk: Aleksandra Dulkiewicz (nonpartisan, backed by the Civic Coalition) - 57,95%.

Cities heading to the second round

In some cities, no candidate achieved a majority in the first round, setting the stage for a second round of voting.

In Warsaw, the National Electoral Commission has yet to relay the official results; however, exit polls suggest that incumbent mayor Rafał Trzaskowski from Civic Coalition is expected to have secured 59.8% of the votes.
