A court in Russia has decided to place Russian Forbes magazine journalist Sergei Mingazov under house arrest, state media reported on Saturday. The reporter was detained on Friday on suspicion of promoting “fake news” about the Russian military, his editorial board said in a statement.

“Forbes” magazine has unveiled its latest list of billionaires, boasting 2,781 entries, marking an increase of 141 from the previous year, CBS News reported. Among those whose fortunes are valued at a billion dollars or more, eight are Poles, with the wealthiest ranked at 398th and the least affluent at 1945th.

Iga Świątek was the highest-earning female athlete in 2023, according to Forbes. The Polish tennis player earned an estimated USD 23.9 million from both on-court and off-court activities. Second in the ranking came Chinese skier Eileen Gu, who enriched herself by USD 22.1 million.
