Poland's Internal Security Agency (ABW) has detained six people suspected of illegally supplying Russia with military components, with several of the suspects also under suspicion of working for Russian intelligence. The suspects include five Polish citizens, aged between 25 and 52, and a 37-year-old Russian woman, according to Tomasz Siemoniak, Poland's special services coordinator. Investigators believe the group smuggled significant quantities of weapons components, including shell casings and projectiles, from Poland to Russia, potentially bolstering Moscow's arms industry and military capabilities. "The collected evidence indicates that the individuals were conducting activities on behalf of Russian special services," Siemoniak wrote on X. All six face charges of belonging to an organized criminal group and illegally exporting military components to Russia. Four of the suspects, including the Russian national, also face espionage charges for allegedly acting on behalf of Russian intelligence against Poland. A court ordered remanded the four espionage in pre-trial detention for three months, while the remaining two were placed under noncustodial restrictions. The investigation, overseen by Poland's National Prosecutor's Office in the northeastern city of Białystok, is ongoing, with authorities seeking to establish the full extent of the suspected network's activities.
