Poland has broken ground on a €460 million factory in the western city of Gorzów Wielkopolski that will produce guided rockets for its armed forces, turning a major weapons purchase into domestic manufacturing. The plant is being developed by Hanwha WB Advanced System, a joint venture between South Korea’s Hanwha Aerospace and Poland’s WB Electronics. The partners signed a contract with Poland’s Armament Agency in December 2025 worth about €3.2 billion for roughly 10,000 CGR-080 rockets. The weapons, designed for Poland’s Homar-K multiple rocket launchers, have a range of 80 kilometers. The factory is expected to be completed in 2028, with deliveries beginning in 2030. The project builds on earlier Polish-South Korean agreements to localize missile production as Warsaw expands its defense industry following Russia’s 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Polish officials say the facility will create more than 200 jobs, support regional suppliers and reduce reliance on imported ammunition.
