Poland remained the world’s third-largest furniture exporter in 2025, behind China and Germany, despite falling domestic sales and growing competition from Asian manufacturers, according to a report by PKO Bank Polski. Polish furniture exports exceeded €16.8 billion last year, accounting for around 6% of global exports. Germany remained the Polish industry’s largest foreign market, buying around a third of Poland’s exported furniture. The sector has traditionally benefited from abundant raw materials, relatively low labor costs and access to European markets. However, rising wages and weak demand, particularly in Germany, have put manufacturers under pressure. PKO BP analyst Aleksandra Balkiewicz-Żerek said compliance with European environmental and safety standards gives Polish producers an advantage as sustainability requirements tighten. A recovery in housing demand could support sales, while greater automation may help manufacturers control costs. PKO BP forecasts average annual growth of 1.6% in Poland’s furniture market between 2026 and 2031.
