Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk began a three-day visit to Vietnam on Saturday, seeking to narrow Poland’s trade deficit and expand opportunities for Polish exporters in Southeast Asia. He laid flowers at a memorial in Hoi An to Kazimierz Kwiatkowski, the Polish architect who helped preserve the town and restore the My Son temple complex. Both sites are UNESCO World Heritage properties. Tusk is scheduled to meet Vietnamese Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng in Hanoi on Monday. Their talks will focus on relations, a roadmap toward strategic partnership, barriers facing businesses and access to Vietnam’s market for agricultural and food products, Warsaw said. Polish government figures show imports from Vietnam were nearly 15 times the value of Polish exports in 2025. The trip builds on economic cooperation discussions held in Warsaw last year during a visit by Vietnam’s then-prime minister. The leaders are expected to sign documents following Monday’s meeting.
