Two people were killed when a minibus crashed into a coach carrying Polish tourists near the Turkish city of Izmir on Friday, Turkish media reported. The Polish passengers escaped with minor injuries, Poland's Foreign Ministry said. The minibus driver lost control and hit the coach, which was taking tourists from Izmir airport to Aydin, sending both vehicles off the road and into woodland, the Hurriyet newspaper said. The two people killed were Turkish citizens travelling in the minibus. Turkish media said nine coach passengers were taken to hospital. Foreign Ministry spokesman Maciej Wewiór told the Polish news agency PAP on Saturday that seven were hospitalized and released the same day. Turkish prosecutors have opened an investigation into the crash.
