The third floor of the four-story school building was damaged, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said. Volodymyr Zelenskyy has described Russians as "scumbags" after a Russian drone struck a school in Kyiv on Thursday morning, sparking a fire while children were sheltering inside. More than 100 children and 60 staff members were in the school at the time of the incident, local media reported. There were no reports of any injuries although Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (DSNS) said the third floor of the four-story school building in the capital's Solomianskyi district was damaged. Reacting to the attack, Zelenskyy, Ukraine's president, wrote on the X platform: "Russian scumbags continue attacking life across our country, Ukrainian children and our schools. Russia must be held accountable for this and receive a response to its strikes." Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko later reported that Russian forces had also struck warehouse facilities in the same district. The attack also sparked a fire in a café on the ground floor of a 16-story residential building, with flames spreading to cars parked nearby. The DSNS said firefighters extinguished the blaze, which had covered about 80 square meters. The attacks came a day after Russian strikes killed three people and wounded seven more in Kyiv.
