Polish aluminum producer Grupa Kęty has signed a conditional agreement to acquire the owner of Italy’s Metra Group in a deal that would expand the Warsaw-listed company’s footprint in North America. Metra’s enterprise value was set at €645 million, while the equity purchase price, after accounting for bank debt and other debt items, may reach up to €450 million, depending on the transaction’s closing date. Completion remains subject to antitrust and other regulatory approvals. Metra operates nine plants in Italy, the United States and Canada and generates more than 45% of its revenue in North America, a market Grupa Kęty sees as a key growth opportunity. Metra has also supplied aluminum profiles used in major architectural projects, including the Louvre Pyramid in Paris. The deal comes as Polish companies step up overseas expansion, with the publicly disclosed value of foreign acquisitions by Polish firms exceeding $1 billion in 2025. Grupa Kęty reported revenue of PLN 5.494 billion (€1.297 billion) and consolidated net profit of PLN 569 million (€134 million) in 2025.
