Poland’s Klaudia Kazimierska won the women’s 1,500m at the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest on Saturday, taking the $150,000 top prize. The 25-year-old moved into the lead with 200 meters remaining and held off Britain’s Georgia Hunter Bell to win in 3:57.55. Hunter Bell finished second in 3:57.72, with American Nikki Hiltz third. The victory capped a breakthrough season for Kazimierska. At the Diamond League Final in Brussels a week earlier, she won in 3:54.05, lowering her own Polish record and setting the world-leading mark for 2026. She also took European silver and won Polish titles over 800m and 1500m. The Budapest event, which ends Sunday, is World Athletics’ new biennial season finale. Its $10 million prize pool is the largest in track-and-field history.
