Sikorski’s comments come amid Washington’s renewed efforts to end Russia’s war in Ukraine. Poland's foreign minister Radosław Sikorski said he was briefed on the state of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia as Washington stepped up diplomatic efforts in recent weeks to resolve the conflict. Speaking at a press conference at the Polish Embassy in Kyiv, Sikorski said he had talked with people involved in contacts with representatives of the US administration and Russia. “I now have a better understanding of the state of these negotiations,” he said, adding: "But I don't think it would be helpful at this stage to share what I know with the public.” Sikorski’s comments come as the US administration has revived its diplomatic push to end Russia’s war in Ukraine. Last week, US peace envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner visited Moscow. They later traveled to Kyiv, where they met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The meetings, however, did not produce an immediate breakthrough. Battlefield ‘revolution’ Sikorski was also asked about Poland’s efforts to draw on Ukraine’s battlefield experience and its military cooperation with Kyiv. “This is the most important task for all defense ministries of countries that are friendly with Ukraine: to incorporate the sacrifice of Ukrainians, as well as their knowledge and capabilities, into our production plans, military doctrine and the training of our soldiers,” he was quoted as saying by Poland’s state news agency PAP. He added that Russia’s war in Ukraine shows that “a revolution is taking place in the way wars are fought.” “Hopefully, we will never have to face such a war again, but future wars will never look the way they did five years ago. Anyone who fails to draw practical conclusions from this will simply lose,” he added.
