Norway is bidding farewell to King Harald V on Wednesday, with crowds gathering in Oslo and foreign leaders attending the late monarch’s state funeral. Harald died on Aug. 28, aged 89, after 35 years on the throne. His coffin was carried in procession from the Royal Palace to Oslo Cathedral, where the funeral service began at 1 p.m. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is among the foreign dignitaries attending. He arrived on Tuesday and met Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, with talks focusing on Kyiv’s urgent need for air-defense missiles and preparations for another winter of Russian attacks. Ukraine has repeatedly appealed to its partners for additional interceptors as Moscow intensifies its missile and drone campaign.Zelenskyy is also expected to discuss FREYJA, a European-led initiative to develop defenses against ballistic missiles, during his visit. The Ukrainian president and Støre have already discussed further work on the program, and Zelenskyy is due to meet representatives of countries and companies involved in its development.
