Poland has signed agreements with Boeing to establish Europe’s largest authorized service center for AH-64E Apache attack helicopters. Prime Minister Donald Tusk said the investment, which will give Poland the world’s largest Apache fleet outside the United States, would double employment at the state-owned Military Aviation Works No. 1, creating skilled jobs linked to advanced military technology. “Modern weapons, Polish technologies. This is how security is built,” Tusk wrote on X after the agreements were signed. The center to be built in the central city of Łódź will be able to maintain at least 96 Apaches – enough to cover Poland’s entire planned fleet. Warsaw ordered the helicopters in 2024 in a deal worth around $10.8 billion, the largest single foreign military purchase in Polish history. Tuesday’s agreements with Boeing follow earlier deals with Lockheed Martin covering other elements of Apache maintenance in Łódź.
