A blaze near Tírig in Castellón has burned nearly 700 hectares within a 19-kilometer perimeter, prompting the evacuation of around 700 residents from Catí. The fire began after a dry thunderstorm on Friday. A separate wildfire near Niebla, in Huelva province west of Seville, has burned about 40 square kilometers and forced 474 people to leave their homes. More than 600 emergency personnel are involved in the response. Spain is enduring an exceptionally severe wildfire season, with more than 200,000 hectares burned nationwide this year. Poland sent 105 firefighters to Spain earlier this month to reinforce local crews. Authorities are closely monitoring wind conditions, which have repeatedly complicated efforts to contain the fires in both regions as crews work on multiple fronts nationwide.
