Bromage said she continues taking on daring challenges because growing older has restricted many parts of her life, including driving and traveling independently. She also said poor eyesight had left her frustrated and determined to focus on what she can still do. David Barrell, chief pilot at AeroSuperBatics Wingwalkers, described helping Bromage complete the challenge as “such a privilege.” Imogen Sims, a fundraiser for Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity, said Bromage’s wing walk was supporting the charity’s stroke services team and praised her courage and generosity. Bromage said her outlook was shaped by a quotation displayed above her bed while she worked at a Dr Barnardo’s home in Bristol during her early nursing career, urging people not to delay acts of kindness because they “will not pass this way again.”
