Morawiecki made the announcement on journalist Bogdan Rymanowski’s YouTube program, saying the party leadership had effectively ended the membership of lawmakers aligned with his Development Plus movement. The dispute escalated in July after Law and Justice leader Jarosław Kaczyński ordered members to leave outside political associations within seven days. About 40 Morawiecki allies refused to leave Development Plus. Party leaders subsequently treated them as having left Law and Justice, rather than referring them only to its disciplinary officer. The group has since formed a separate parliamentary club, marking the largest rupture in Law and Justice in more than two decades. The split followed months of tensions over the party’s direction ahead of Poland’s 2027 parliamentary election. “By October 15 at the latest, I can confirm this,” Morawiecki said.
