The project will create 186 hectares of reclaimed land and include nearly 3 kilometers of quays, a breakwater, a 17-meter-deep harbor basin and a 1.3-kilometer container terminal quay. It will handle up to 2 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) annually and receive the largest container ships able to enter the Baltic Sea. Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak called it the biggest maritime investment in modern Poland. The project is valued at about €2.3 billion. The development is intended to strengthen Poland’s role in Central European supply chains and reduce reliance on foreign logistics hubs. The revised project, unveiled in November 2025, replaced a model that had stalled due to financing problems after a Belgian-Qatari consortium failed to meet its contractual commitments. It will include road and rail links and is expected to be completed by 2029.
