Known as FSRU 2, it will be Poland’s third LNG terminal, after Świnoujście’s onshore facility and the first Gdańsk terminal, due online in early 2028. Its capacity was increased from 4.5 billion to 6.1 billion cubic meters a year after market demand surpassed the initial offer. Prime Minister Donald Tusk said the commercial project would reinforce Poland’s hub role. Gaz-System said the country’s three LNG terminals will have combined regasification capacity of more than 20 billion cubic metres (bcm) annually. With interconnectors to Denmark, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Lithuania, Poland expects to have nearly 50 bcm in annual gas import capacity from 2030.
