Veștea, who heads the Brașov County Council and previously served as development minister, has 10 days to form a cabinet and secure a confidence vote in parliament. The move is Dan’s latest attempt to end a political crisis that has stalled policymaking, threatened access to EU funds and weakened Romania’s currency. Veștea said he wanted “a political government” focused on reforms, Romania’s recovery plan, OECD accession and the EU’s SAFE defense-loan program.
