Russian Telegram channels and local residents said drones hit the Togliatti Kauchuk plant in the city of Tolyatti, sparking a fire, while another blaze was reported just over 343km northeast at the synthetic rubber plant in the city of Nizhnekamsk. The facility lies more than 1,200 kilometers from the Ukrainian border and is one of Eastern Europe’s largest petrochemical enterprises. The Kyiv Independent said it could not independently verify the reports, and Ukraine’s military has not commented. Reuters reported that Russian authorities said three people were injured in Tatarstan and that Moscow claimed to have downed 231 Ukrainian drones overnight. Ukraine has expanded long-range drone strikes against Russian oil, logistics and defense-linked infrastructure.
