TVP World’s Piotr Kućma traveled to southern Ukraine, where Ukrainian marines demonstrated the Barracuda, a modular boat drone that can carry FPV drones, explosives, mines and other weapons. The system can operate without a crew on board and act as a “mother drone,” launching smaller drones from its deck. Ukrainian troops said the platform also uses artificial intelligence and computer vision to help identify targets. “Naval drones have been a real gamechanger, forcing the Russians to leave the Azov-Black Sea region,” Dmyro Pletenchuk, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, told TVP World. He added that it has helped Kyiv keep a maritime export corridor operating despite repeated Russian attacks on the key port of Odesa.
